He reminded me of Frodo, but he ended up as a deformed Jermaine from FotC.  Still, I had fun with the color palettes and lines.  By accident, I was erasing everything at 25% and I sort of like it now.  It helps me remember my mistakes and keeps them in the painting.

I imagined her falling through water, her scarf heating the ocean around her and setting it ablaze.  In a way, she also reminded me of Carmen San Diego with her beauty and mystery.  I was playing with shapes here and really wanted to stick to just the rounded brush.  A headache set in half way through, some Ratatat came on, I napped, I finished, and here we are. This was Wednesday’s sketch.

On The Street … Urban Camouflage, Paris.
When I first saw this, he seemed to be looking down at the puddle like it was beneath him, which makes sense since it is a puddle, but I suddenly imagined he’d give the same look to a begger, flashing a smile, but wanting the world to know his greatness.  All the while his outfit wants to escape to a better place.

Accepting Other Artists!

I had a long thought about it, and this really should be about people drawing, being inspired by fashion, and bringing a community together.  In lieu of that, I am making this blog a group blog.  So anyone who wants to upload art they made that was inspired by TheSartorialist.com, shoot me an email at addme@thesartorialartist.com with your Tumblr member name.

The rules for submission are:

  • You must link to the permalink photograph that inspired you.
  • You must provide a concise, bold title in your description.
  • Briefly discuss the inspiration, techniques, and any external influences.
  • Check for any spelling and grammatical errors! (I will fix your posts!)

In the meantime, I’m going to try and get on the Tumblr Pro so I can let anyone submit, EatSleepDraw.com style!

TheSartorialArtist.com Gets A Design!
And it looks eerily similar to the one from my main blog.  It’s as if I got incredibly lazy and merely swapped out color palettes, scrubbed up some google images, and did a lot of rotating and scaling.  Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, muahahahaha.

WHAT IS THIS BLOG ABOUT?

If you follow my blog, KevinNuut.com, you’ll know that I’m a sucker for a few things, shoes, design, odd artwork, pandas, remixes, and fashion. And honestly, who is better at photographing fashion in the moment than TheSartorialist.com?

Furthermore, the constant fear of creating shitty artwork keeps me from drawing most nights, and I need a conscious excuse to keep me practicing. Instead of just drawing naked people or apples, I’m far more interested in how people wear fabric and understanding color palettes.

So with one stone in hand, and two birds on the horizon, I start this blog.

FOR ANYONE FOLLOWING

This is a secondary Tumblog, which means if you are following it, it can never return the favor. Do not feel sad, TheSartorialArtist.com still appreciates your interest. If you see a young lad from Austin, TX following you, with the surname of KevinNuut.com, just know that the reasons are just and ... uhm ... reasonable?
